For a few years now, GORE-TEX®’s EXTRAGUARD upper material technology has been available, complementing the waterproof system. GORE-TEX® is renowned for its membrane technology, which allows water vapour to escape from the shoe whilst preventing water from penetrating it. The EXTRAGUARD upper material, now designed to complement this, rounds off the technology. Unlike leather, it does not absorb any liquid from the outside and therefore remains lightweight and dries quickly. It also helps to regulate heat loss. Feet are not affected by the cold caused by external moisture – a comfortable climate is maintained inside the shoe.
STEITZ SECURA already uses this technology and presented the first styles at the A+A trade fair 2023. At this year’s A+A trade fair 2025 STEITZ SECURA presented four more styles.
